"Together we are strong"

Modern geoscientific research and teaching demand a high level of interdisciplinarity. At the same time, society is asking for answers to urgent issues regarding the challenges of the future. Answering these questions requires a continuous exchange between fundamental research and applied research. To meet all these demands, the umbrella organization DVGeo e.V. was founded on 3^rd September 2015 in Berlin.

Belonging to this organization are the four largest societies in the Geosciences in Germany, i.e.:

• the German Geological Society  – Geologische Vereinigung (DGGV)
• the German Geophysical Society  (DGG)
• the German Mineralogical Society (DMG) and
• the Paläontologische Gesellschaft.
